Jonathan Haidt is "confronting allegations of junk science", reports the WSJ, this morning. I enjoyed Haidt's "The Righteous Mind", but given where we are in the reproducibility crisis, which has afflicted psychology more than any other field as I understand it (although nutrition is right up there), I think we need regard celebrity scientists from a default position of skepticism. Particularly when they write best-sellers whipping-up the latest moral panic (social media, in this case).
